FAQ

Good questions deserve clear answers.

Here are a few of the questions homeowners and Realtors® commonly ask.

Every roof needs a watchdog.·Know what's above your head.
Is the inspection the main service?

Yes. HRI's primary focus is inspecting the existing roof and explaining observable conditions. Repair estimates are secondary and are offered when a repair is appropriate.

Is full roof replacement a typical service?

No. HRI does not generally approach inspections as a full-replacement sales opportunity. If a repair can reasonably address an issue, repair is the focus. Full replacement is discussed only when the roof's condition warrants it.

Can I get a repair estimate?

Yes. When an inspection identifies qualifying repair work, you can request a repair estimate through the same online booking system.

Do you work with Realtors®?

Yes. Roof inspections for real-estate transactions are a primary part of HRI's work, including buyer and pre-listing inspections.

What kind of reporting should I expect?

HRI provides clear, easy-to-understand reporting and explanations where useful. Report contents can vary depending on the service and circumstances.

What is the difference between an inspection and an estimate?

An inspection is focused on understanding observable roof conditions. An estimate is focused on pricing work that is already defined. If you know something is wrong but do not know the cause or repair scope, an inspection or issue evaluation may be the better place to start.

I have a leak. Should I book an estimate?

If the source of the problem or the repair scope is not known, it is usually helpful to understand the issue before putting a price on a repair. HRI's homeowner service guide can help you choose a starting point.

Do I need to know what is wrong before I contact HRI?

No. You can describe what you are seeing, and the homeowner service guide can help you choose between an inspection, an active roof issue evaluation, or an estimate for known work.

Can photos be included with an inspection?

Yes. Photos can be included as part of the inspection reporting when appropriate. The specific report contents may vary depending on the service and circumstances.

Does every roof problem mean I need a new roof?

No. Roof age, visible condition, isolated damage, recurring problems, previous repairs, and other circumstances can affect what work is appropriate. HRI's inspection-first approach is intended to help you understand the existing roof before deciding what to do next.

I'm not sure what to book. What should I do?

Use the Homeowner Service Guide. It asks a few simple questions and gives you a recommended starting point.
